Conwy Town Council Civic Sunday Parade

The Mayor of Conwy and Constable of the Castle, Councillor Sian Grady, accompanied by her Mayoral Cadet, Alfie Roberts, laid a wreath at the Cenotaph on Sunday in remembrance of those who gave their lives in service of their country.

Conwy Town Councillors then marched through the town as part of the annual Civic Parade. Led by the Menai Bridge Band and the Mayor, Cllr Sian Grady, the parade set off from Bodlondeb at 10.45am and made its way along Bangor Road into Lancaster Square, where crowds had gathered along the pavements to watch the procession.

The parade was joined by civic dignitaries from Chester, Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Rhuddlan, Penmaenmawr, Beaumaris and Denbigh, alongside members of the Armed Forces, Cub Scouts, local councillors, and community representatives.

The procession continued to St Mary's Church for the Civic Service at 11am.

Following the service, the Mayor said:

“Thank you so much for attending the Civic Parade, family, councillors, distinguished guests and lovely members of the public. I felt absolutely honoured and very humble. Thank you.”

The Civic Sunday Parade is an important part of Conwy's civic calendar and provides an opportunity for the town to come together to celebrate its community, traditions and civic heritage.
